Welcome to the Place..

Where Nothing is Impossible.

- - - - - - - - -

Jamaica..while your better half gets her hair put in braids,
you can saunter across the street..
Grab some fresh fruit..
a locally made wood sculpture..
a pound of Grass..

or a kilo of Coke.

First, you're jumping through the hoops.

Rich people pretending to look Poor.

Born again
the gift of not remembering

Freedom

The smell of lentil on the stove,
Pastries in the oven,
I stand on my porch unimpeded,
the trees are divine,
I am feeling what is mine,
Freedom…
The gift of all seasons.

One must smile with regard
To what we have in our yard
A billowing red, white, and blue beauty…

It waves in the wind
Offers, come be here my friends
In this land where you’re right is simply, to be.

Do not fear for your life
While I cannot promise no strife
I promise, the option to lead
To work, beg, or borrow
Build today your own tomorrow…

And for that my brother rejoice
For if you have sums of gold
Or simply pennies to your soul
Pure joy costs the same to all

So throw out your satchel
Is not needed for the natural
Bliss which flows freely
Divine…

For our ancestors leapt
From old decrepit ships
Putting their lives out on the line…

So that you and I
Could look up to the sky
And rejoice
That the choice is all mine.

Glass...
Sand (+) Gypsum (+) Soda Ash (+) Limestone

Quite possibly one of the most interesting elemental transformations we have to play with here on earth.

Sand melts at about 3000 degrees (F), at melting point it is mixed with the other 3 minor ingredients and made into Glass. Then it must be cooled under tight supervision in order to ensure it undergoes a strict ordained schedule of recurring stress tests, which are necessary for it to be precisely cut into clean, useful sheets. The end result is a beautiful, transparent, and dependable...a substance we don't want live with out.

Now we cannot have a conversation about transformation with out including our friend Carbon...

...another element that does quite well when scorched under fire..2700 degrees F to be precise. Put enough pressure on it (say around the weight of 4000 or so men) and Carbon gets stronger.
That's a heavy burden for anyone to bear.
What matters with this humble little element is how you bond it's atoms together in the process...and also much thanks to the patronage of Kimberlite, then
Carbon is Reborn.

One of the best movies of the last 20 years.

And now let's review what we've learned about religion this week:

While Christians were busy condemning Creation and forbidding sex on Sunday,

Jewish people were having their Challah and eating it too.

Its is just the beauty of the Jewish sense of reason, to turn a necessary passion into opportunity for divine service.

"Common marital relations are thus transformed
into a ritual act anticipating the redemption of the ultimate Sabbath.
The coupling of man and woman on earth at
G-d's moment of rest from creation is more than just sex
The human Consort and King imitate and enable
unification of the female and male powers in G-d."

And even the non-religious Karl Lagerfeld would like what Muslims have to say about the structure of friendship..

Religious fear---involves respect, awe, and devotion...G-d is 'friend' of the believer, and the believer is privileged with the invitation to be friends. But friendship is not easy amiability. It goes much deeper and entails accountability. G-d sees and knows all, yet permits his human creatures to pursue their lives in freedom.

You've always had faith in me
so I'll have faith in you
you've always been there for me
so I'll be there for you

Smile.

Bye for now.
